SUPERMAN , it is for the chapter 5 episode . The 15 chapter serial stars Kirk Alyn, Noel Neill, Lyle Talbot, Tommy Bond and Pierre Watkin. In this serial Superman battles Lex Luthor who is using a teleportation device and a new identity as Atom Man in his criminal plans. I've included 5 close-up shots. You rarely see this poster for sale you see the paper this poster was printed on was very very very perishable - the kind of very low quality paper they used to print this with - over the years darkens and becomes extremely brittle totally unlike most one sheets printed in the 50's that have held up far better . This example when I bought it was obviously put away and probably never even opened or touched by anything or opened only dacades ago very few times and even though carefully stored folded out of the light and never touched for 57 years it still was a very challenging task to linenback this incredibly fragile piece it had separation at the folds and paper missing at the folds from just existing !! and beating the odds but other than this paper replacement at the folds in the 2 places where the vertical and horizontal folds meets I'd say a third of a inch by 2 or 3 inches , this piece came through far better than most surviving examples with incredibly bright colors . Just look at the several close-ups to see this posters is in amazing shape ! . I am assuming few examples of this poster exist , it's awesome art looks far and away better than the 1941 superman I saw on Ebay for $16,000 smackers minimum bid !!. This poster has got very serious appreciation potential , it's got extreme rarity, it's very well preserved especially the colors and the scans were not altered in photoshop for brightness or contrast and the comic book market tie in , etc.. this baby is just waiting to be 10 grand next year. Back to Top Sadly, some sellers of unlicensed movie poster reprints have resorted to exclaiming their reprints are originals or studio reissues " not posterhouse reprints" as one insincere Ebay seller claims whatever that gibberish means. Virtually all the unlicensed reprints of movie posters in all countries are from one source for the last 21 years since the illegal reprint/fake problem began in 1985 with Francis in London, England's beginning to "fake" originals, his product has almost always been 1 inch short so most of his one sheet size movie posters are 39 inches tall instead of the 40 inches they usually should be (until very recently when studio's began ocassionally printing some 39 inch tall posters for some reason). His reprints are grainy in the credits , the originals have no grain, and the out of focus, grainy, splotchy appearance on some of his posters are a dead giveaway. Upon reciept most reprints are very easy to recognize due to there horrible quality.
